I Highly Recommend Rocky

Hello All,

I've opened up my personal blog to the public in an effort to thank Rocky for all of the great work he has done for me ... and hopefully help anyone considering doing some home renovation make a decision that works for them.

I am a first time homeowner and renovator. Working with Rocky was an extremely positive experience. I found his rates to be reasonable and he really takes pride in the work that he does. I often felt that Rocky was equally as excited about my apartment as I was. It was truly a pleasure to work with him.

This blog is a personal, honest and real time account of my experience. Feel free to go though the whole thing, and here are a couple of links to help get you started:

For more pictures (displayed in chronological order) please see my pictures on Flickr

If you would like to see the apartment in person, please schedule a time with Rocky. My schedule is rather hectic so weekdays before 8:30am are best.

Good luck & happy renovations!

Let's Go Giants!

UNBELIEVABLE!
Super Bowl swag Merle style

(Don't worry, I know its ridiculous)

Sweetest Contractor Ever

I've been having some problems with my shower door leaking. Rocky came over the morning of January 30th so I could show him exactly what the problem was. When I came home, I found a bouquet of birthday flowers sitting on the dining room table.

(No mom, they were not in the vase. I put them in the vase. And no, he didn't give me the clementines either)

Good Morning Sunshine

My first sunrise in my new home ...
(too bad I'm not a morning person)

It's Move In Day! January 14th, 2008

Rocky & Freddy got to the apartment to clear out all of their equipment & dust the place off around 8:30am, I got there with the movers about 2 hours later. Lot's of action at the Merle.

WELCOME!

Hummmm, What Happened in the Kitchen?

I just went to drop off the bathroom paint color for Rocky & did my typical tour of the apartment to see what's new. My to my surprise, the stove was installed, and the kitchen counter tops are now EVEN. I don't why, and frankly I'm not going to ask -- but I'm VERY happy about it.

(The white space on the wall by the counter top was the original height differential)

Back in the Saddle ...

A few weeks ago Rocky asked me if I had picked out a saddle for the bathroom. I thought he was getting fresh, but it turns out his question was legitimate. You see, a saddle is the threshold of a door. It is a separate piece of stone or wood which spans and covers the joint between two different floors.

When we picked out the tile for the bathroom floor and bathroom walls, Phil at Benson Tile never asked if I needed a saddle. Rocky told me a few days later I needed a three foot, two bevel saddle for the bathroom. So I called Phil. I wasn't particularly interested in making yet another trip out to Benson Tile for a little 3 foot block of material. Phil knew what tile I had purchased for the bathroom ... he does this for a living ... surely I can trust him to pick out my saddle. Plus, he knows my taste by now. I got my kitchen backspash and floor tile from Benson Tile too. He knows I like a really simple, clean design. So I told him to pick what he thought would be best. He told me he would send me the saddle that goes perfectly with the floor tile. Great. Done & done.

Meet "Phil" my saddle. All I can say is, at least it's brown ...
